Die ABU Cardinal 33 (grün), Made in Sweden, erschien im Napp och Nytt Katalog 1975 und blieb bis 1977 darin, sie wurde später nochmal in verschiedenen Versionen aufgelegt. Wegen der bis heute großen Nachfrage, wurden und werden, immer wieder Sonderserien aufgelegt und Rollen aus Ersatzteilen zusammen gebaut. Diese haben dann wie diese hier, keine Fußnr.!
The ABU Cardinal 33 (green), Made in Sweden, appeared in the Napp och Nytt catalog in 1975 and remained there until 1977, later being reissued in various versions. Die Rolle ist ausgestattet, mit einer Aluminium Spule mit etwas höher Schnurfassung. Möglicherweise war diese Spule, für 0,25 oder 0,30 Mono Schnur gedacht?

Die Rolle hat keine Fußnr., an den Gussnr. sieht man, das es sich wahrscheinlich um eine schwedische Fertigung von 1976 handelt? Wahrscheinlich hat jemand aus Ersatzteilen eine Angelrolle zusammen gebaut, weil die Nachfrage entsprechend hoch ist? Es wurden auch einige neuere japanische Teile verwendet, wie Schrauben und Cardinal 33 Schild.
The reel has no serial number, the casting numbers suggest it is likely a Swedish-made model from 1976. Someone probably assembled the fishing reel from spare parts, given the high demand. Some newer Japanese parts were also used, such as screws and the „Cardinal 33“ badge.
Am Getriebe fällt nichts besonderes auf, es entspricht der letzten Ausführung.
There is nothing unusual about the transmission, it corresponds to the latest version.

Das Gehäuse ist nicht mehr verputz, die Kokillennaht ist voll sichtbar. Typisch für die letzten „Schwedischen“ Gehäuse!

Hier erkennt man gut, die Schrauben sind aus Edelstahl und haben etwas andere Maße. Es sind also Nachbauten aus dem Zubehör. Außerdem ist der Schlitz deutlich gröber bearbeitet.
You can clearly see here that the screws are made of stainless steel and have slightly different dimensions. So, they are aftermarket replicas. In addition, the slot has a much coarser finish.
Am Cardinal 33 Schild erkennt man, es entspricht den Schildern, die die Firma Olympic in Japan Mitte der 90er Jahre, für ihre ABU Cardinal Replicas verwendet hat!

Interessant finde ich auch, die 2 Nut am Anfang der Achse! Da auf die Alu Spule wohl stärkere Schnur als normal aufgespult wurde, hat diese sich wahrscheinlich nicht gleichmässig auf der Spule verteilt. Damit das ausglichen wurde, hat der Angler einfach eine 2te Nut angebracht. Die Spule konnte dadurch, weiter aussen montiert werden und die Schnur hat sich gleich mässig verteilt. Ein guter Trick!
I also find that second groove at the start of the shaft interesting! Since a heavier line than usual was likely wound onto the aluminum spool, it probably didn’t distribute evenly. To compensate for this, the angler simply added a second groove. This allowed the spool to be mounted further out, ensuring the line distributed evenly. A clever trick!
