Es gibt eine Menge von Gewichten für den Turniersport. Dadurch das es verschiedene nationale Verbände und internationale Verbände gab und diese teilweise fusioniert haben und auch neue gegründete wurden, ein fast unendliches schwieriges Thema!

Ich gehe jetzt nur mal etwas auf das Material etwas ein, aus dem sie gefertigt wurden und ein wenig auf die Formen.

Die meisten waren Tropfenförmig, natürlich auch je nach Disziplin und Verband. Es gab aber auch Sonderformen die Eckig oder Flach waren, oder einen eckigen Rand hatten.

Zum Material selbst: es gab welche aus Blei, Aluminium, Gummi und Kunstoff. Und natürlich auch Mischformen, Oberteil aus Kunstoff oder Holz, das Unterteil dann aus Blei oder Aluminium. Aber es gab auch welche aus Aluminium, die zum besseren tarieren einen Kern aus Blei hatten. Um die Kinder besser ran führen zu können, gab es auch welche in Form von kleinen Fischen.

Wie ich schon gesagt habe, die unendliche Geschichte.

Ein paar Stück möchte ich Euch jetzt mal vorstellen:

There is a multitude of weight classes used in casting sports. Given that there have been various national and international federations, some of which have merged, while others have been newly established, this is an incredibly complex subject!

I’ll now touch briefly upon the material from which they were made, as well as their shapes.

Most were teardrop-shaped, though this naturally varied depending on the discipline and the governing body. There were also special designs that were angular or flat, or that featured an angular edge.

As for the material itself: there were versions made of lead, aluminum, rubber, and plastic. Naturally, there were also hybrid types, or instance, with an upper section made of plastic or wood, and a lower section made of lead or aluminum. Some aluminum versions even featured a lead core to allow for better balancing. To make it easier to introduce children to the activity, there were also versions shaped like little fish.

As I’ve said before, it’s a never-ending story.

Diese sind aus Aluminium, von ABU Schweden, für den Verband ICF (International Casting Federation), mit dem Gewicht von 5/8oz das entspricht ca.17,7g. Das ganze rechte war anscheint auch mal Goldfarben und die Farbe wurde entfernt.

Hier ein relativ neuer Satz, ABU Gracia Gewichte 12g, 18g und 30g aus Gummi. Diese Gewichte haben den Vorteil, man kann sie auch ohne Bedenken in modernen Turnhallen benützen!

Here is a relatively new set of rubber weights from Abu Garcia, in 12g, 18g, and 30g sizes. The advantage of these weights is that they can be used in modern sports halls without any concerns!
