Mir ist das in meinen 60 Angeljahren noch nie passiert! Ich könnte mir vorstellen, das es beim klettern an einem Hang passiert sein könnte, oder vielleicht sogar unter Alkoholeinfluss? Wir werden es wohl nicht mehr erfahren? Aber ich möchte Euch , trotzdem ein paar Fotos davon zeigen! Die Rolle war vorbildlich gepflegt, mit Hightech Schmierstoff und so weiter, aber das nützt dann alles nichts mehr? Eine Sekunde der Unachtsamkeit und schon hat es sich erledigt!

In my 60 years of fishing, this has never happened to me before! I can imagine it might have happened while climbing a slope, or perhaps even under the influence of alcohol? We’ll likely never know for sure. Still, I’d like to show you a few photos of it! The reel had been impeccably maintained, using high-tech lubricant and so on, but none of that matters in the end. A single moment of carelessness, and it was all over!

Der komplette Fuß ist aus dem Gehäuse raus gebrochen! In den Fünfziger Jahren, wurde solche Gehäuse, wegen der Material Knappheit repariert! Heute würde ich sagen entweder, man besorgt sich ein neues Gehäuse oder man hat wieder ein paar Teile, für die Ersatzteilkiste? Das muss jeder für sich entscheiden!

The entire foot has broken right out of the housing! Back in the fifties, housings like this used to be repaired due to material shortages. Nowadays, I’d say you either get a new housing or you just end up with a few more parts for the spare parts bin, that’s something everyone has to decide for themselves.

Tja was soll man dazu sagen? Das nächste mal, auf jeden Fall besser aufpassen!
