Die erste Ausführung der ABU Cardinal 66, das Schild Cardinal 66 ist noch oben auf dem Gehäuse und auf dem Seitendeckel ist nur der Aufkleber ABU Svängsta! Die vordere Lippe der Spule hat noch den grossen Radius und der Korkkern ist noch Ballig.
The first version of the ABU Cardinal 66, the Cardinal 66 sign is still on the top of the housing and on the side cover there is only the sticker ABU Svängsta! The front lip of the coil still has the large radius and the cork core is still crowned.
In der Vorderansicht erkennt man noch einige Unterschiede zu den späteren Modellen, z.B. den etwas anderen Kurbelarm.

Achsantriebs Arm: Version 1 mit Anschlussstück aus Delrin, leider platzen diese Teile leider in der letzten Zeit häufiger auf, aber Ersatz aus Messing findet man in England ! Das Schneckenrad wurde bei den frühen Modellen übrigens noch aus Bronze hergestellt und aufwendig verpresst.
